Google Goodies

by on Oct.14, 2006, under General

Been playing with some interesting toys from google. They have released a iphoto plugin for the picassa web albums. It allows you to create web albums directly from iside iphoto. It works really good. I have been trying to integrate it back into WordPress… and that has not gone so well. It’s just too new at this point. It’s hard to beat the maturity of the coppermine integration.

China!

by on Jun.05, 2006, under General

[thumb:2076:l]Well… The photos are up. I still need to add album titles, and some captions to a few that demand the attention. There are litterally thousands more photos, but I had to draw the line somewhere. It was really hard to pick. China is a truely amazing place for photography.

Quite challenging as well.

Enjoy!

China/Japan almost ready

by on Jun.05, 2006, under General, Photography

I spent a ton of time tonight digging throug these photos, and I have finally gotten over the hump. The biggest challenge, rating the photos, is complete. I’m now going back through the upcoming sets and deciding where to split them, and which ones need enhancement. So far things are going quickly and smoothly. I have finished day six, and I am half way done with day seven. There are thirteen days total. It’s really great to finally be finishing this up. Been a long long time coming.

Blog Playtime

by on Jun.04, 2006, under General

Been very busy with life in general the past few(six) months. [thumb:1963:r]Sandra and I celebrate 9 months together tomorrow. Between merging our complicated lives, and raising our five kids (between us), I have had little computer play time for a while.

[thumb:1959:l] The blog is getting some much over due maint this evening. I’m just about ready to post the second half of my china trip. It’s been a killer. I’m tempted to simply post what I have now. Then post the last third later. It’s been really hard to get through it all. I met back up with Sandra right after I came back from China. It has been difficult to make the time to do my stuff.

I’m also upgrading to the newest wordpress software, and along with it, I’m replacing some of the interworking of wordpress and coppermine. I’ll probably have to go back and fix some of my older posts. I don’t think the images will be linked properly anymore. I’m going to have to upgrade my theme too. I’ll be using this one for a short time I believe. Working with these themes can be tedious.

So… there’s this girl…

by on Nov.02, 2005, under General

I think all of us have that person in our life. You know:

  • The one who had your back no matter what.
  • The one you were so in tune with that words were optional.
  • The one you gave your shoulder to when the world came crashing down
  • The one you wanted to be with forever.
  • The one who would never go out with you. “We’re just friends.”

Well… whatever… I don’t care if you didn’t.. I DID. And it was great. We had a ton of fun together through out my highschool years. She was one of my best friends. We shared things together that we never even shared with our spouses later in life. But for some reason (fear) we were never able to take it to the next level. We both moved on to other people and each got married to the wrong people. Between the jealousy of our spouses, and the pain of seeing each other with other people, it was just too much. Then we lost touch. Seven years ago.

Imagine my suprise when I get a cryptic email a couple months ago, from her sister, letting me know that my long lost love was waiting to talk to me and that I should call her. Imagine my shock when she confessed that she had truely loved me all these years, and thought her chance had passed to tell me how she truely felt. Imagine my euphoria when we decided to give things a shot and start dating.

Now here we are, going nuts for each other like we should have done so long ago. Loving every minute of it.

Just wanted to let you all know that sometimes thing can work out.

Another new iPod

by on Jul.07, 2005, under General

I’ve been watching the Apple repair status site very closely since sending in my iPod the second time. I’ve been concerned that there would be complications getting this problem taken care of. I was happy to see today that Apple has ordered mr up a new iPod to replace my lazy one.
I have always said that failures are to be expected. The true difference between a good company and Dell is that the good one will honor their warentee, and get your problem corrected. In my experience thus far, Apple has yet to fail me.
Now it is time to prepare for my trip!
